stroked? 3.8-to-4.2

im in severe need of knowledge about upgrading the 3.8 to a 4.2 what is involved and .. stroking the engine.. im foreign to these areas of the car modification and any help would be great. also if you would give your opinion about the upgrade that would be great

Well I currently have a 4.2 stroker kit for $400+shipping. You'll get 6used pistons and rods and a new crankshaft. What year is your car, so I can tell you what else you'll need.

As far as mods go, just going to a 4.2 is good, but you need
(To really make it worth it)

1. Bigger Cam
2. Bigger Intake Porting (can be added later)
3. Head Porting (kinda optional, but it is needed more on a 4.2 than a 3.8)

Simple street (stock 4.2 shortblocks) strokers are approaching 300 RWHP,
one guy hit 265/280 (RWHP/RWTQ) with my 2nd generation SPI cam and
was not even fully sorted out! We're up to 4th Generation now but now
everything I put out in a cam is totally custom for each combo. You can
get it thru www.RDMotorsport.com

Nice to meet you, is your name Charles Kelly 9?
Good luck with the modding, your at a good place to start.

I think what your best bet for a cam would be to fill out the cam form on my site. That way we can spec it for you. The price of it will be the same regardless of what cam you get though. I would jusp on the GP and you could get the cam for up to $40 cheaper
