Re: Tuch up paint ?

Yea, touch up paint is always going to be visibly different. Its main purpose IMO is to hide White or help eliminate anything from rusting or getting under the paint and cracking it.
I recommend you just blob it on there and not paint it like a brush.

Re: Tuch up paint ?

There is a process you need to go through to give it the appearance of a decent finish. From what I read, you don't bush it on like SaleenFiend said. You dab it on preferably not with the brush but with something like a toothpick. You build it slow to fill in the scratch/chip. Then, you wet sand it smooth with the paint. Then you buff the area...or the whole car if you car has never been buffed. This will give the closest thing to a continuous paint job.

Re: Tuch up paint ?

use a fine brush and after application a little rubbing compound to smooth the area a bit~ it will never look great though.

You CAN wet sand some to smooth it out (probably best way to go if the surface scratch is not really big etc) but do that one at your own risk.

Re: Tuch up paint ?

Here's an article I found in quick search. It's pretty close to the video I watched about paint chip repair....it will give you a good idea of what you need to do.
