Just bought a 1995 V6 Mustang! Excited! Steering Wheel Replacement Advice Requested!

I picked up my 1995 V6 Mustang today, and I love it! This is the first Mustang I've ever owned, and it's great. Though it's not crazily powerful, I really can't wait to drive it around. It's black with black tinted windows - I will post some photos of it after I wash it and wax it!

I haven't done much to the car yet. The Mustang emblems were missing, but the seller included replacements, so I attached them this afternoon. I also replaced the tires with new ones, since the originals were quite worn. The car has 139,000 km on it, and I bought it from the original owner who never drove it in winters - I live in Toronto, Canada so that's a good selling point!

The biggest problem with this car is that the steering wheel buttons that activate the cruise control are broken. Has anyone successfully swapped out a new wheel assembly? I'm not terribly mechanical, so I'd appreciate some advice on whether or not it's a huge job to do that. I would need to source the wheel (any parts places that are recommended?) and have my mechanic install it.

I love this car! It looks really, really great for a 15 year old vehicle.

A follow-up to my own question - I found the part and have ordered it. Specifically, the switches can be ordered as a separate assembly called a "Speed Control Switch"

If your 95 Mustang was made before 2nd month of year, part number is
F4ZZ9C888AA and it's no longer available.

If your 95 Mustang was made after the 2nd month of the year, part number is
FW5912 and it's $94 Canadian.

My car was made in the first month of '95, but I'm going to order the part anyway, as the parts dept. guy I spoke with said that it was just a lettering change, and it should still fit. I'll report back here after I've installed it.

It's easy to change, there are two little block off plates on the back of the steering wheel. Remove those and you'll see two screws. After DISCONNECTING the battery, remove those two screws and the airbag should come out, unplug it and carefully set it to the side. You'll then see the screws that hold the cruise control switches in place.

It's shouldn't take 15 minutes to change all of it out.

order from Tousley Ford Parts Depot they have GREAT prices (10% above cost) and are a ford dealer. They may also have the part you need even though its unavailable so they say.
