CAI Clamps

Hey all,

I have the standard Ebay CAI installed in my V6, works fine expcept Im having trouble with the clamps coming loose over time, I already applied some Blue Loctite, but was wondering if someone make s a better clamp than the cheapo looking hose clamps that came with it, any cool aftermarket ones out there? thanks.

Re: CAI Clamps

Hm.. I can't say that I know of any cool aftermarket ones, however I can suggest getting the size of the clamp and going to Home Depot, Lowes, Ace or any other hardware store and picking up a new one. Perhaps the screw isn't so great and you can get a different type of (screw) clamp.

As for making it cool looking I am going to give, what I feel like is my answer for nearly every other question, is to just spray paint it You can make it any color you want and always switch it up. While you are at the Hardware Store pick up a can. Check for ones for metal application. Rustoleum should work as should Krylon. The Krylon Plastics I believe includes metals.

Re: CAI Clamps

Actually, I found some good ones, they are called T bar clamps, expensive, but have a locknut to keep them tight, and they are Stainless and do a better job of clamping all around. Got them at Jegs.

Re: CAI Clamps

you can get stainless clamps from marine stores and some plumbing clamps are stainless.
we use stainless ones at work for rubber roofs to seal vent pipes (aka stink pipes) never had one come loose. I just took a few and replaced the ebay cai with them.

Re: CAI Clamps

they make clamps for boost applications that are spring loaded and will hold very well, you can try those I guess
