Question 2000 v6 acceleration n speed improvement?

Hello guys!
I know i keep posting threads... Thats y we r here right? Lol

well i just recently changed my rims (deep dish bullitt 18x9 and 18x10) and i have noticed my car takes a tiny bit longer to accelerate... Im assuming its because the rims are bigger and a bit more heavier then the ones i used to have. I also have a "cai" and my car is automatic.

Do you guys know what i can do to improve my acceleration? (with little money) i am gettin dual exhaust soon... With a catted x pipe so im guessing that will help me with acceleration and also "hp"

thanks for the feedback and help guys! its really appreciated!

Probably the biggest seat in the pants difference for you would be a set of gears (4.10's) a locking differential (T-lok), and a good tune.

the gears and t-lok won't add power, you'll just notice the power you have more... if that makes since...

the tune could give you 20 from what i've heard, also depends on which type of fuel you want it tuned to...

Well, you can buy a tuner with custom tunes for your car. VMP apparently does a good job with v6's, especially autos. Whatever you do, don't buy the off the shelf tunes. They say "custom" but really aren't towards your specific vehicle. You don't get to choose what you want.
Some pro shops will do dyno tunes as well, but since you're N/A, I'd personally get the handheld tuner. Then you can re-tune at home when you want after further modifications.

You already have the CAI, soon you'll have the exhaust...once you get all the bolt on mods that you want, and are ready for the gears/tlok, I'd get the tuner. You'll need it to reset the speedo after the gear change.
