Re: Suspension "why"

You haven't even touched the tip of the handling ability of these cars I promise. Start doing some SCCA events and see just how far behind even the S197's are and you will understand.

Re: Suspension "why"

There are different suspension applications for different handling situations. Some guys on here do the SCCA/NASA autocross and tune their car's suspension for that. Others have tuned their suspension for carving the hills and sharp turns. Even 1/4 mile cars have certain suspension settings to handle the launches and traction issues.

Mustangs (especially v6's and GT's) need help in the handling department as much as they need help in the straight line performance department.

Re: Suspension "why"

It's a massed produced car that must appeal to the masses, even the high school girls that want a cushy ride, even though they want a sports car.

Re: Suspension "why"

the first step in doing autox is learning the car, you will gain the MOST improvement by gaining experience. With that said in stock form the handling is modest at best... there is SO much room for improvement.

Also considering the looks department... stock they sit WAY to high and look 100000x better sitting correct (lower than stock) but keep in mind there is such a thing as to low.

there are so many different packages out there, it hard to say what go with what! i have a 2006 vehicle with a pony package... mine came with the gt front and rear sway bars... i added a factory ford gt500 tower bracket that was only $42 dollars... it did help as the bracket tighted up the top of the towers. i thing that ur 2007 vehicle does not come with the sway bars from the factory. ( i have a extra set if u want them)... i think that if u where to add just the front and rear factory sway bars and tower bracket you would see a improvement with out a lot of cost.... i dont race my car on the track but drive it on the street... i do think you would find it better with those two low cost upgrades... just my option....

Re: Suspension "why"

i could go into this all day, but just to say this the stock suspension on any mustang is just **** for anything other than someone that commutes on a daily basis, period. These cars have so much more potential in them than what ford unlocks from the factory.

Re: Suspension "why"

ford has to engineer daily driving such that noises are kept down to meet standards and not annoy buyers who just want to daily drive their car and such~
