Cool Stearing wheel question

Im looking at getting a 01 mustang v6 hard top and i want to swap out the stock stearing wheel with this one Universal BatTLe Style Steering Wheel 320Mm - Black
My question is... after looking at the stock setup the main collum is squareish and the hub adapter covers are round and smaller than the collum. I dont whant to have a bunch of bare bone plastic sticking out is there a short hub adapter for this car that will let the steering wheel basicly lay against the collum plastic or is there any hollow space under the plastic. Like say i where to custom mold a fiberglass cover to make it fit better?

Re: Stearing wheel question

It's illegal, and it looks gay

Buy an FR500 wheel, it feels 1000000000x's better than stock and it looks awesome, I love mine.

Re: Stearing wheel question

yup, you must retain the air bag, the FR500 (now known as the Ford Racing Steering Wheel) looks very nice, 30% thicker than stock, and is a little darker than dark charcoal (will match 01 dark charcoal interior fine but NOT medium charcoal interior as used in some years (I think 03+)

price is 200 or so~ install just requires a puller and isnt very difficult.

Would you ever so happen to have a pic of the steering wheel in your car?

As part of my car's transformation I am DEFINATELY considering a new steering wheel, so I would like to see how it looks in an actual vehicle...

FR500 Mustang Steering Wheel at AmericanMuscle.com - Free Shipping! This is the wheel there talking about. Basicly just a larger version of the stock but as i dont have one yet cant realy say anyhting other then just that it looks like a stock wheel.

P.S. As a side note does not come with the airbag.

Re: Stearing wheel question

you reuse your stock airbag, the only issue is make sure the colors match. They used to be 150 new
