Need tips for my dumps

Hey guys, yesterday I went to an exhaust place thinking they would install tips for me. I went in and after the guy got my car up he told me that they couldent just install tips, they would need to cut my dumps and install other stuff. As far as I know all I need are pipes, hangars, and just tips, wouldent they just be able to weld and bend the pipe? Im sure they have the tools to do it, he told me 100 bucks for the tips and installation but now when he brought this up he said he cant get me GT tips from the same year, (1998) and install it all and everything for 250$, is this a good price? I really didnt think you would need anything else but some pipe and tips to do this, I thought you could just weld from my dumps. Any help and suggestions into getting this done for cheaper possibly, I would greatly appreciate!

Thanks Guys!

Go buy some chrome tips of your own, bring them to him and tell him you want a pip made from your dumps to these tips. IF he says he cant do it for a decent price, go somewhere else that will. Also, take cash with you... if you present a certain amount of cash and say, this is all ive got... you have a better chance of getting it done. Money talks when it comes to mechanics.

Ditto, except go with stainless steel tips IMO. It costs a little more, but well worth the difference.
