Re: wierd noise ???

like a breaking stick type crack? or like a metal rattle? is it noticeable enough to maybe record it? look at the plug again and make sure you didn't use the wrong ones and just smashed that plug with your cylinder... only thing i can think of right now

Re: wierd noise ???

uh... don't know what to say... sry... to me that sound very odd as a v6... not trying to be mean, but it sounds like a beefy lawn mower. does it ever die after you rev it? it sounded like it was dipping kinda low when it came back down, but than you zoomed out and it seemed to be idling fine... :dunno: i'm sure someone will be by with better advice/questions

not sure if i hear it or not, but are you hearing a metal "meshing/clacking" noise... it might be valve noise, i know my protege has really bad valve noise, but it also has 200k on it...

Re: wierd noise ???

Is the check engine light on? If so, take it to auto zone, advance, etc and let them plug up their obdII to check it out, it's free.

Re: wierd noise ???

Jesus Christ people.

Check the midpipe flange on the passenger manifold, the a/c drips on that flange and causes the weld to break, hence making the exhuast disconnect. You will either need to have someone weld that one back together or buy another one, or buy a set of headers.

This is a very very common problem with 99-04 V6 mustangs.

Lol...wasn't trying to be degrading, just a common problem in the V6 community. I drove a V6 for 6 years and mine did it with less than 40k on the odo. The only way to truly prevent it is to go with a set of aftermarket headers.

Between trying to decipher the OP's post and watching the vid it just kinda popped out to me.

Checking the manifolds for cracks or signs of exhaust leak is something you can do yourself rather quickly. I agree with Lowflyn on that being the source of the noise. Check that first before you get a set of gaskets, to then have to get another set and pay even more labor if its the manifold itself.
