Talking SMART CHOICE?

HELLO GUYS! I WANTED SOME GOOD FEEDBACK ON THIS!

SO I HAVE MY 2000 V6. I PUT A "CAI" AND I WILL BE INSTALLING A DUAL EXHAUST WITH CATTED A CATTED X-PIPE AT THE BEGGINING OF AUGUST. I ALSO PUT NEW RIMS (18X9 AND 18X10 DEEP DISH BLACK BULLITT) THEN I WILL PROBABLY CHANGE THE T-LOK AND THAT WOULD B IT FOR NOW.

THEN I PLAN ON PUTTING MONEY AWAY AND GETTIN 05-09 GT, BUT I WANNA KEEP MY V6 BECAUSE ITS IN GREAT CONDITION, DRIVES NICE, AND W THE MODS I WILL HAVE DONE IT WILL LOOK REALLY GOOD! PLUS AS TIME GOES BY IT WILL HOPEFULLY TURN INTO AN ANTIQUE AND ITS ALREADY IN NICE CONDITION... JUST GOTTA KEEP IT THAT WAY. AND SINCE THE CAR IS ALREADY MINE, I CAN KEEP THAT MONEY AND SAVE EVERY MONTH.

WHAT DO YOU THINK? THANKS AGAIN FOR THE FEEDBACK! :thanks:

Re: SMART CHOICE?

It sounds like a good plan. Not sure about the antique part, but I'm sure that's what people said back in the 60's about the 6 cyl mustangs as well.

If nothing else, the 2000 would make a great daily driver and yo could turn the GT into your weekend play toy.

Re: SMART CHOICE?

That's what I want to do with my sixer. Since it's paid off and is in great shape, I might as well keep it around. Then in another year or two when I'm done with college I'm going to get a cobra. Your plans sounds good to me.

Who knows, 20 years from now a 2000 silver v6 mustang may gain considerable value for some reason, you really never know. My only thing is that if it reaches a valuable status, any alterations done to the car may decrease value. Most of the time, a desirable car is worth more in stock form. You can put the stock wheels and cai back on, but the exhaust will be altered...but I wouldn't let that keep you from modding it the way you want, enjoy it now, sometimes **** happens in life that could force you to sell the car.

Re: SMART CHOICE?

And that's exactly what I'm going to do to mine, maybe add a few more horses to it and leave it be. I've only got another year to pay on it and the sixer will turn into my DD. I've been looking in the auto traders and found a 99 cobra for 10,500, so I'm hoping another good deal will come across me like that a year or so down the road.

Re: SMART CHOICE?

sounds good, I wish I could have kept my 01 v6, it wont be worth anything as it gets old but it will still look good and be enjoyable.

Re: SMART CHOICE?

Ooo you guys dont think it will b worth much as years go on?
I dont plan on selling it... I want to keep it because it was the first car i have bought, my first car u know? And also because its in great condition. I thought that it would maybe gain value years ahead... Kinda like when you see an old mustang and u go "ooo damn" whether or not its a v6 or gt.

U know?

Re: SMART CHOICE?

I say keep it, which I'm keeping mine as well. You can always build the **** out of it and get something else as a DD. It makes building a car easier that way.

Base/GT mustang's depreciation is fairly strong, unfortunate if you own one, not so much if you're looking to buy one lol.

In 2000, there were 37,617 silver mustangs (base/GT's) built. I do believe silver was made every year from 99-04. In all reality, Ford made a ton of base model/GT mustangs, they are a dime a dozen. I'm not saying your car won't be worth anything in 20 years, you really don't know, but I wouldn't bet money on it. My car's color, sonic blue was only made 3 years in the sn-95 body style, with under 17,000 v6/GT/Cobras made, but I don't think mine will be worth anything simply because it's a v6, and there really were a lot of them made.

But I do understand ya about the first car thing. I can't part with mine because it's my first car...it's paid for, in great shape, and has decent miles...several times I wanted to sell it and buy a v8, but I couldn't because it's my first car. Like you said before, I'd just keep it, enjoy it now, and do like 19Delta said, build the **** out of it later on...

Re: SMART CHOICE?

I know that my car isn't worth crap to anyone but me, but I still love it... Especially now that it's got a 4.2 in it.
