V6 motor differences between 1983 to 1985

I have acquired a newly rebuilt 1983 v6 3.8L motor and would like to place it in a 1985 Mustang.

What I need to know will the intake off the 1985 fit and work on the 1983 motor. I noticed the compression is different between the two years so I am concerned if it will fit correctly.

If not then I will follow through going back to carb instead of CFI. The loss of 8 HP is not a problem considering the car will be used primarily for touring and no performance tricks.

Need to know what trouble I will get into swapping out the two different motors.
