If your not going to do the Intakes and don't have dual exhaust ,your not going to see that much increase in HP.

It will give you some but as stated it's just one piece to a bigger puzzle.

with just a cam and 92 octane SCT chip you will see about 20 hp increase depending on which cam you get. if you do the cam you might as well get new heads cause you will need new pushrods and new valve springs. the heads will also compliment your cam very well and give you even more hp. like stated earlier, " it's all just part of a bigger puzzle. on my set up but I also have adjustable rockers

Figure out what you want as a goal for your car and build toward it.

I got 28rwhp with the 207 cam on a stock engine and an untuned chip. But I had a good dual setup with stock headers.

Just think what you could get with a better cam and ported heads and intakes, and a dynotune .

That's sorta true. The pushrod's length is really going to rely on you cam lobe, but milling the heads will help you use shorter pushrods if you get a reground cam. Reground cam need longer pushrods though if you have your stock rockers or non-adj. rollers. Best over all option though is to get adj. roller rockers like GT-Eater has, that way you don't have to waste money buying certain length pushrods.

Some have gotten around 50 RWHP with a cam and tune.

But most get around 30 and the new profiles can better
that with proper spec matching. Head Porting will help some
but like the puzzle analogy goes, your existing pieces may
be the best ones for your total picture. The intake porting
probably makes more sense than head porting for a mild street
3.8 with a cam. I have verified 13RWHP/16RWTQ gains with
street porting on a 99 V6 5 speed. Intake porting only, no
other changes.

The head porting also changes the cam requirements, proper
E/I flow ratios will change the split on the cam. You do not
need extra flow at the expense of velocity, but proper mild
porting of the intake ports enhances velocity and flow = teh win!
