First Mod Done

OK for most this isn't a big feat. Its my first Mustang and my first experience doing more than changing oil and breaks.

The CAI is installed with some help from my 7 y/o. and yes she really did help! Turned some bolts and pulled some parts!

So can anyone tell me for sure will it be ok to put the 4:10 gears in my v6 7.5 rear end? New gears in the rear end is next, tired of having no power at take off.

Re: First Mod Done

you will hurt your gas mileage by about 3mph on the highway~ the install is 200-400 and the gears are 200 and you really should do a tlok at the same time which is 200 more.

Re: First Mod Done

That's about it, you'll probably want some gear oil as well.

Royal Purple Max Gear 75w90 Gear Oil at AmericanMuscle.com - Free Shipping!

I'd definitely make sure your friend has the proper tools and is really comfortable with installing the gears/tlok. I'm not saying your friend isn't capable of doing it, it's just a sophisticated install where attention to detail is quite necessary. An incorrect install will cost you big time.

Re: First Mod Done

Don't forget to get some Friction Modifier! As far as the install goes, I would be sure that you can trust your friends knowledge. Ask him some questions about Pinion Depth, Backlash, and see if he bull****s you. Follow up his statements with research!

In the end having somebody do it correctly the first time is always better!

Re: First Mod Done

I personally would rather have a dealership that will warranty (and I mean written warranty) install the gears as if they are not put in correctly guess what... that means you not only have to replace the gears but have them installed again
