Re: whats Seafoam???

It's used to clean out the car's fuel system and exhaust components. Usually at higher mileage people will use it to clean out any carbon deposits on the valves and burnt oil or whatever have you, any residue that's not supposed to be in the engine, fuel lines, etc.

Yes, it is not recomended for superchargers, turbos, diesels, and rotary engines. Otherwise it is great stuff. Use it every 30,000 or so with your regular maintenance items.

Re: whats Seafoam???

When I did mine at 20,000 I left a smoke screen for about 8 miles Do it at night on a freeway or on a road with a long open strech

Interesting...do you have any links? I've been contemplating doing mine for a while just never got around to it. I would think it would be good for the intercooler to get all that **** off the fins...but the blower would be the unknown in the equation.

Re: whats Seafoam???

I remember when my buddy got his '91 civic hatch, one of the first things he did was seafoam, and it was crazy seeing the smoke screen he was leaving.

Re: whats Seafoam???

It never hurts to use it. Higher mileage engines would benefit most from it. You can pick it up at any auto parts store. I haven't used it myself yet but the directions are right on the bottle and it's real simple to use. It's something like 1/3rd of the bottle goes into the gas tank, some goes into the oil and some goes into the PCV valve? Eh, don't quote me on those instructions but you can get an idea now.
