Re: gears

You don't have to have a t-lok, but most do both while they're at it.

Re: gears

its the same amount of work to put in a tlok with the gears or just the gears so the install price should be almost identical. Its also only 200 more for a tlok and they are a must for performance.

Re: gears

You don't have to install a tlok with gears, but I would. They can be installed at the same time as the gears, and you only need friction modifier along with the tlok. It will help with acceleration and launches, not to mention two wheel burnouts.

I'm assuming you are installing the gears on a v6...if it is a v8, you could keep your old tlok and rebuild it.

Along with the gears themselves, you'll want gear oil (Royal Purple is a good brand), and a bearing kit if your car has higher than 50k miles.

Re: gears

dont forget you will need somone to retune the car, or reprogram the computer so it knows you have 4:10 gears, otherwise your speedo will be off and if you have an auto your shifts will be off as well.

Re: gears

Can we get a sticky and FULL WRITE UP FOR GEARS? With directions to go and sources for parts for every one? I don't have the time right now.. but when I do I am going to make a huge sticky...we get 5-6 gear threads a week now.
