Alright I have about $700 as of right now and I'm really stuck on what I should do. Its definately going into the mustang but I'm not sure wether to go for performance or appearance right now. If I were to go for performance what would be the next best mod to look into? I was thinking about 3.73 gears, but where is the best place to buy them online? And an underdrive pulley might be nice to have I was wondering if there is any difference in the different brand pulleys. Whats the best kind and where to get it? I'm trying to beat a 5.0 Mercury Cougar I raced him tonight with like 2 other people in his car and he didn't have me by too much (Its automatic and he has a set of gears in it) What should I aim for towards getting more torque? Thanks. -Chris

Gears will be your best bang for your buck.

Go before show, always.
show before go=ricer.
except for that grill delete, that's important.

I prefer performance before appearence. Go with the 3.73's.

A camshaft would also be a very good option for you, but you would definately need to get some heads and intakes done along with that, and that could run you over $700 easy.

get rims, you get better handeling and LOTS better look. You may need a little more money, but not much.

check in for sale forums at mustang sites, you might be able to do wheels AND something else depending on what kind of deal you get. i saw a set of used ford bullit wheels go for 250 shipped + shipping on stangnet, have seen wheels go for 500 with tires which would leave you a couple hundred to drop into something else.

I would just find some stock 96-98 headers and dont bother with Aftermarket shorty's or long tubes because they are a waste unless you are goin9 to supercharge or turbocharge or Heavy N/A with Cams, P&P heads and intakes
