Talking restoration hardware

on my 98 mustang, my "chin spoiler", or the stock guard under the front bumper, has started hanging down, and i noticed that a couple of the plugs that hold it under the bumper have fallen out. and also im missing the front door plug, so mu door rattles a little bit while im driving. does anyone know where i may be able to buy some of these plastic plugs. (id prefer not going to a salvage yard)

Re: restoration hardware

Might try an autoparts store like autozone etc. I know they carry the plastic door panel clips and such, so they might have something you can use, but expect to pay way too much for it.

Re: restoration hardware

May want to check either a salvage yard (those type of things salvage yards leave on the junk cars) or some mustang restoration/oem sites. Latemodelrestoration Supply has a lot of stock parts like that. CJ Pony Parts does as well, though some members have had issues with them...so I'd use them as a last resort. As stated, you'll probably pay more than you want to for the clips.

Re: restoration hardware

thanks, i found the door panel push pins. but their not the right year. think they will work. and i cant find the underside bumper guard, so i guess ill just try my luck at an auto parts store, then maybe a salvage yard.

Re: restoration hardware

Maybe sites like American Muscle, LMR, and Dallas Mustang for the chin spoiler pins. Anyplace that carries the chin spoiler might carry the hardware separately as well or could get it.

Other then them you could try a Ford dealer ship and/or service center, but if I remember then they are just those heavy push pins which you could pick up at most autopart stores now too.

You could probably also get some bolt and washers and just fix it that way too.

Re: restoration hardware

push pins are cheap and sounds like what is missing and why things are falling down, pick up some from autozone. For the door you can find what you want at a pull a part probably

sweet, I would've done that on my ring if that emblem was available.
