CAI and turbo question

i have a totally stock '02 V6 and i am going to start work on it in the next few weeks. i am planning to start with some basic bolt-ons: dual exhaust, CAI, underdrive pulleys but i have a question for the long-term. after some research about whether i should install a supercharger and a turbocharger for the future i think i am going to go with the turbo. the thing is, if i install a CAI right now, will i have to scrap the unit entirely when i put in the turbo (because the incoming air will have to run through the intercooler) or can i just re-route it?

thanks,

Jon

Re: CAI and turbo question

Weither you go turbo or supercharger most systems require you to replace your cold air intake system. Probably the best bang for your buck is buy a no name brand intake system on ebay. You should be able to pick one up for under $100. The only issue you'll have that is it will be consider an off road device since it most likely will not have a CARB EO number (50 state legal) and you may not pass the visual part of a state emissions test.

Re: CAI and turbo question

you are correct. you can't use an N/A CAI with and turbo or supercharger setup you get.

My advice is buy a CAI, custom tune, and exhaust. this will wake your car up nice.
