strange clutch noise

My car is making an annoying squealing/light friction sound when i'm driving between 1500 and 2500 rpm's between 1st and 3rd gear.
Whenever the strange noise starts and i just fiddle with the clutch, barely pushing it in and out, it makes a very distinct squeaky noise. after 4th gear it either stops or i just can't hear it anymore. Any ideas what it is and how i can fix it? Thanks a lot.

Re: strange clutch noise

Does it make the noise anytime you press on the clutch like at dead stop or only when drving

Re: strange clutch noise

if it goes away when you push the clutch petal in or let it out then its the throwout probably~ it ticks and squeels if it gets worn out... good chance to replace everything while you are in there though

Re: strange clutch noise

That's the sound I got when my throw out bearing exploded. It took everything out with it, I would have replaced it all anyway though. It's around $300 for a stock clutch kit (comes with pressure plate, disc, throwout bearing). I don't think the pilot bearing comes with it but that's only a few $ anyway. You can always upgrade if you want too.

the sqeaky clutch noise comes and goes, but when it's there it doesnt matter if the car is stopped or in motion. It makes the noise whenever i touch the clutch, regardless of how far i push it in. the friction sound is there only when i'm driving past 20 mph

Re: strange clutch noise

Spector keeps misspelling pedal and ThaWill corrects him every time. I keep finding it hysterical.
