pull the motor and buy an engine rebuild kit then put it back in and port and polish and clean everything

Yah I agree, if you really want to keep the v6, I'd do upper/lower intakes, cam, maybe consider stroking it to a 4.2 or something...you'll gain more hp over the stock 3.8 at least.

I'd also consider upgrading you rearend. You can install a 7.5in tlok and taller 7.5in gears, or really play it safe and get an 8.8 inch rear from a v8 mustang and use rebuild kits to rebuild the factory tlok and bearings.

Re: i need some help please

the best investment by far is the 373 gears and tlock. i have a posi & 373 gears w/ tuner and few other simple mods and exhuast and i SPANKED a 02' GT tonite. I mean SPANKED! left him and a honda like i just decided to drive off! im pretty sure his was stock GT but regardless he was walked.......by a v6

I've got something similar in mind. My stock 3.8 is almost pushing 190k at this point....Any suggestions on -which- motor rebuild kit to use?

A few custom places out there specialize in 3.8 engine building. I know quite a few people go through supersixmotorsports and tom morana for parts. They offer individual parts ~ cams, heads, etc. or full stage kits to stroke your engine.

red,

Listen to sonic. Only been on the forum for a few days but the guy is all over every thread with more knowledge than I could have known he had. for your motor try craigslist as well as the junkyard you would be surprised waht you will find. But make sure your get near the same year but not over a 98. you don't want to deal with ECU issues.

the v6 aftermarket is very big so you can do most anything its all about where you wish to end up and what type of budget you are in. Dont be one of those people that start a project and never finish it.
