im going to buy a 4.10 gear for my 2004 automatic mustang and i find the there are 2 sizes and i want to know what is the different between these 2 gears and where will be a good place to get put on?
If you have a V6 then you will need 7.5 gear set GT's use 8.8 gear sets. They are not interchangable unless you change the entire rearend which some people do if you are going to live on the track or take your car well above 300 HP which most dont!!!
buy a complete 8.8 rear end if you can, in the long run you will be much happier if you decide to do some real moding or even go to the track. Only upgrade the stock rear end if you plan to only mess around a bit on the street.
