Today, while backing out of the garage, my 2004 V6 auto started jerking, like something was catching. I went ahead and backed it out and the jerking stopped. But now in 1st gear I can hear a whining sound, like its winding up, when it shifts into 2nd, the sound goes away. As far as shifting, it goes through all the gears just fine and accelerates like always. But when it shifts down into 1st like at a stop sign, the whining sound comes back until I fully stop. The sound is almost like on a manual tranny when the pilot bearing is bad.
Could it be a universal joint? What do you guys think. I had the tranny serviced about 6 months ago. New filter, fluid. This figures, I entered it in a show for Saturday
