mach 1 take-off exhaust

i just bought mach 1 take off exhaust for 100 $ +40 for shipping; is this a good deal?? Also i heard the mufflers on the mach 1 are more free-flowing then the Gt's is that an advantage? any estimates on what having the pipes welded up will cost?

Re: mach 1 take-off exhaust

sounds like you got a good deal... as far as advantage goes it depends on your set up. if you have a turbo you want to get the exhaust flow out quickly. if not then a little back pressure isn't a bad idea.
If you have all the hangers and accessories needed it shouldn't cost more then 100$. I paid 180$ to buy two flowmaster 40 series and have them welded on.
I took a reciprocating saw to my exhaust and cut off the exhisting dynomax mufflers before i had them weld on a new set to make their job easier and keep my bank roll fatter. i would just ask your friends in your area what shop might make a deal with you to weld them on...

Re: mach 1 take-off exhaust

My question is, how did you come across a deal like that? I would love to find take-offs for around that price

yes, you want the best flow you can get through the mufflers with whatever you're running..the size of you piping is what determines your backpressure

Re: mach 1 take-off exhaust

I have mach 1 exhaust off a 03 mach 1. Cost me 50 bucks and 50 to ship from new york to mississippi. I love em, a different sound from the gt takeoffs as well, brent, whitestang99, n8r, spectorv, silverstangboy, kyleusaf, and blownsix have all heard it. They are actually the same mufflers as the cobra.
Also, to have it put on should be around 100 bucks from a good exhaust shop.

Yep, Brads Mach 1 takeoffs sound much better than my GT takeoffs. You got a decent deal.

Re: mach 1 take-off exhaust

So there really is a sound differance? Is one louder? Also did you say the mufflers on the mach exhaust are the same as the cobras ?

do the exhaust tips that are rolled on the mach make any differance either.. sound?

Nah, the rolled tips just look better imo, they don't change the sound

Re: mach 1 take-off exhaust

Mach 1 Takeoffs on a stock six sound better than GT Takeoffs on a stock six.

I personally like my GT Takeoff tips better, but that has no effect on sound, just appearance.

Re: mach 1 take-off exhaust

I still have a set of 03 Cobra takeoffs with maybe 4 or 5K miles on them, only trouble is the tail pipes are made for IRS rear end, they go under the rear end, wouldn't work on a V6 or GT unless it has IRS rear on it.
