Re: race gas

Sure you can. However, do you have a custum tune setup for race gas or a high boost/nitrous setup requiring the extra octane? If the answer to all of those is no, then race gas is useless for you. In fact, if you have just a stock tune in your car, then anything over 87 octane is just a waste of money.

Race gas won't make you go faster without your car being tuned to take advantage of it.

Re: race gas

Quick answer: I would NOT run anything higher than the normal octane. Unless you're running a wild tune, the combustion won't be right, the fuel won't burn right, and you'll do more damage than good, including problems with your o2 censors.

Re: race gas

Unless it's a race gas tube, you don't need race gas. If it's for 93, use 93. Higher octane will do nothing for you if the car isn't tuned to take advantage of it.

Re: race gas

the only reason to raise the octane is for a safety margin if you detonate~ but I wouldn't do it.

Re: race gas

It doesnt make sence if your not set up for race gas. Like somone said before you can do more damage then good, combustion wont be right.

If your running 93 octane you should be good.

Re: race gas

Never run race gas (ie anything other than pump gas) in any vehicle currently equipped with cats. You will mess those things up so fast it's not funny.

On topic, you will see no gains other than a lighter wallet.
