Post basic info on turbos

thought some of this would be an interesting read for those wanting to turbo charge their car or just want to learn more so they can do it safely. there's more in depth stuff on the website that's relevant as well and not just this page.

Re: basic info on turbos

turbos are very old stuff. it went away for a good amount of time before being ressurected.

the general rule of thumb is, if youre asking how to turbo your car, youre already in over your head.

Yes they did. Turbos and superchargers were both very prevalent on many WWII aircraft engines.

They were used so much for aircraft because these engines needed so much more air intake(because of the altitudes they flew at) than they could get in there by themselves, so they needed a lot of forced induction help.

WWII aircraft engines also used alky/water injection fairly frequently, but I forget which planes had it.
