Re: eaton m90 question

Look, Im gonna give it to you straight.

Don't try.

I planned on doing this awhile ago and decided not to and sold the supercharger. If you were going to put an m90 in your car it would be easier to just do an engine swap than to track down all the parts you would need to make it work.

You can only run so much boost with the thing before the crappy stock pistons could possibly give, or the rods, or other problems that could happen.

If your going to do it, get a whole engine from a supercoupe and put it in. They have forged bottom ends and will hold up better than your mustang's stuff. Or just save up and get a pre-made kit from procharger or something. I just don't think this swap is worth the trouble...

Re: eaton m90 question

Engine swaps aren't really all that difficult if you have a donor car. Just pull anything you need. It gets annoying when your looking for individual parts and could take a bit of time.

If you were to find a junk engine somewhere and rebuild your prob looking atleast 2 grand paying labor and such.

Re: eaton m90 question

the supercoupe motor in the end will still fall short or your performance expectations most definatly. Upgrade the heads/cam/intakes for your car and N/A you will put down more power than the supercoup motor. Then do a blower and.... you will definatly have some nice power. With H/C/I you should see 230-240rwhp (for na build) and same in tq~ if you go with a blower may not make as much until you get the blower but after.... a good bit more than ^

Re: eaton m90 question

yes, the supercoupe makes about 230hp out of the box

while yes, you can mod them, but there is only so much you can do within a budget, you might be able to get 250-275 at the rear wheels with an intake, exhaust, pulley, and other small things, but once you start to go past that, it gets really expensive

not to mention, you would be going from OBD2 to OBD1, making the car difficult for emmissions, and then getting your chassis harness to mesh with the engine harness would be difficult too

Re: eaton m90 question

not at the wheels, i guess the way i wrote that post, it came out to sound like it

they generally put down about 195ish at the wheels, but in an mn12, it has some crappy IRS, and it saps more power than a stang, so in a stang, it *might* put down 205 at the wheels with a 5-speed
