How does this sound?

OK, this is what I'm looking at buying.

Stage 3 H/C/I from SuperSix Motorsports.
  • Stage 3 fully ported upper and lower intake.
  • Superheads with 1.86/1.56 valves.
  • 214/220 cam

And that takes $2k. The promise up to 100 horsepower.

How big is the upper intake opened up to? If you have anything less than a 56-60mm TB also, you're really holding your self back. Also, since you live in TN, I believe you're a green state, so you have smog testing. Your exhaust will also need to be redone. I would opt for some hi-flow cats and some sort of dual exhaust. Going from a single 2" exhaust to a free flowing 2.25 dual exhaust will really allow your engine to make some power. It'll be almost the same as my engine having the clogged duals. Before you do the exhaust I would only expect 160-170rwhp, but after the exhaust I would think more like 195-200rwhp and about 220-230rwtq. Which comes out to about 230-240ish bhp and 270-280ish btq.

Re: How does this sound?

The emissions I'm not worried about cause it's just a computer check. No code, and your good to go.

The exhaust might take some time, I want Mac Flowpaths and the cat-back isn't cheap. It'll be a work in progress.

Rob should I go down to Stage 2 and save the $500 +/- to go ahead and get the rocker arms and stuff? It's 25 less horsepower.

I'm not off topic, why should he waste his money on useless bolt on mods instead of going straight into where the real power is made?

is your car automatic or manual? I would swap to a manual first, thats half a second right there.

Re: How does this sound?

Yea, it's all time and money....

I hate saving for mods. The next thing Im getting is a stage 3 upper from RPM. Ported for a 60mm throttle body. So thats like 3-400 bucks easy. Gimme like 2 months...

If you came across a 8.8 w/ 4.10s already in it for 270 dollars including labor I would say go for it too

Actually I think 19's would be better. That's what I'm running on my car and they're perfect, 21's might be a little big.

Re: How does this sound?

Dom I picked up a set of Denso 19lb injectors on ebay for 30 bucks. Mik at RPM said that I would be pushing the limits of the 14#'s and if I could get a set of 19's cheap to do it.
