The Toyota Prius is shaped that way because they have to fit a bunch of batteries in there. Still I think they could do a better job with the design of that car.

My MPG is now 26 with the 3.73's. Not a bad exchange for the performance difference.

Re: How many MPGs do you get with your V6?

as a stock 96, I was getting 19 - 20 mpg. Added following items:
Cold Air Intake
BBK Throttle Body & spacer
Under-drive pulleys
Dual Exhaust by Pypes

I am now getting a consistant 24 mpg, unless of course my foot goes heavy, then it's down to 23....

Re: How many MPGs do you get with your V6?

That will definately help. But be sure to get oem parts not those spark plugs with 4 tips or anything. Also I have a programer where I can tell the engine to use less fuelwhich also helps. With my tires it uses more gas

Re: How many MPGs do you get with your V6?

Not the best for ur car might seem better to begin with but cost more for same performance. Especially for a v6

They have been known to cause rough idle and miss at high rpm's. Go back with the $1.50 or less Autolite normal plugs and gap them correctly.

Yeah I didn't think it was anything major but that makes sense. Its more a marketing ploy. The more the better

Re: How many MPGs do you get with your V6?

My 07 V6 gets great mileage. According to the computer it averages 29. That's about 70% city and 30% highway. For the fun of it I reset the meter on a highway trip, 75 mph average and it stayed above 35. Have a cold air intake, cat back dual exhaust, performance tuning, an 8.8 with 3.73 gears and a stage 2 clutch. The add ons were to get more HP but also helped the mileage. Get better mileage if we baby it but I like acceleration too much so the 29 average is having fun driving it also.

Re: How many MPGs do you get with your V6?

New to this site.

In my 2008 Ford Mustang V-6:

I averaged 25.2 miles per gallon using pure unleaded gasoline 50% city/50% hwy. However, my mileage suffered once 10% "Ethanol" was introduced, I now get 17.9-21 miles per gallon in 50/50 mode. I dislike 10% ethanol mixed in the gasoline which is mandated by the EPA mess.

i drive both city and highway, more highway but it balances out with the traffic.

Re: How many MPGs do you get with your V6?

I downloaded an app on my phone called "aCar" that helps track car maintenance and fuel. Just started using it but from the last few fill ups I'm getting an average of 20.73 MPG, maximum was 23 MPG and the minimum 17.98 MPG, but that's for a V8.

Re: How many MPGs do you get with your V6?

My V6 has been getting horrible gas mileage lately, I would estimate about 17-18 mpg's. I keep getting a trouble code saying O2 sensor lean. I think my computer is compensating for the code with more gas. Hopefully it will be better after I replace the bad sensor.

Re: How many MPGs do you get with your V6?

The MPG that I am getting right now with 85% hwy and 15% city driving is 28mpg not bad for a 15 year old ride.

I get about 250 on a tank. I usually put in around 14.5 gallons so a little over 17 thats including city, HWY, Traffic and unleashing it sometimes. Best tank ever was around 295

Re: How many MPGs do you get with your V6?

Just filled up last night my avrage with traffic and highway was about 18.6 which i thought was a little high. 17-18 seems about right for me. It's fun to give into the car a little.

I get 26-29 Mostly highway w a few traffic jams
On the prius...... Why doesnt toyota just shape their cars more like coffins to go along with the throttle grabbing carpets, stuck throttle, brake failures and steering problems. You're driving a cars thats gonna accelerate all on its own get stuck going at high speed with no brakes and no steering. Yep sounds like a coffin to me.

Wow...so that's what's wrong with my car. Cold mornings are usually a ***** and I have to sit with my foot in it for about three mins so it doesn't die right off. Anyway, I get around 25-26 highway and 18-21 city. I don't really keep up with it that much though.

In my car I get.... Considerably less. I drove for 40 min on the highway a few days ago and I burned 1/4 tank of gas.... But it's FUN.

Re: How many MPGs do you get with your V6?

I get 22 mpg in 50/50 driving in my 2008 Mustang V-6/250 Cube. When I am on the Interstate, I find myself cruising around 80 mph or more, when I have to slow down to the speed limit of 65. I average 3 miles per gallon better than the official EPA Fuel Economy site, however, it is considered unofficial. Not "scientific." Lol

Also, my mileage has shrunk since having to use 10% Ethanol in gasoline.

I used to get 27 mpg in my car with "real" gasoline, not gasohol.

I forgot to mention in my above post, I got 31mpg cruising at 85, on a trip recently from nashville to houston. (apparently you can't edit anymore?)

(edit... apparently you can't edit a post older than X days)
