Question 1998 Ford Mustang Starting Problems

Here is what is wrong with my stang. I'll be driving and stop at a store to get something come go to start the car and it won't start come back and 30mins to an 1hr latter and it will start right up. Today I went to work came out 6 hours latter and it did not start the first two times but started on the third.
When this happens I have had a half a tank of gas or more. Have taken the car to the ford dealer they tested the fuel pump and said it was fine and they replaced the crank shaft senors saying that's what the problem was but it still does it every now and then any ideas?

Thanks

Brettman

Re: 1998 Ford Mustang Starting Problems

What year is it? I had a 2000 gt and it did the same thing. Come to find out it had an antitheft system that was screwy and that was the problem. It only did it to me once though. It took about 15 minites to start. Some thing to do with the door being open and the combonation of that and keying the ignition at the same time. This is just a thought for you to look at.

He has a 98, and it sounds like a short to me if it isn't turning over, but if the starter's turning over, I have no idea.

go to advance auto parts and have them test your battery and your alternator. if you get the starter out of the car they can test your starter for you too. i know i work there. if thats not the problem then you might have a problem with the ignition lock wires.

^ What he said. I work at one too. I suspect wiring.
