CAI Install, now car won't start

I installed my new CAI but when I try to start the engine it won't start. Everything is plugged in I don't know what it is.

Re: CAI Install, now car won't start

Haha ya! I was a little dissapointed with the CAI. I was expecting a little more noise out of it but oh well!! I can feel a little bit more power so that's good!

Is your spare key programmed? If you just got the key cut at Home Depot or a locksmith than it will not start the car. A programmed key has a black housing on it with a little radio signal in it that connects to the car which allows it to start.

If the key was new anyway but never programmed, or it could be possible that it just needs a new re-program.

what kinda intake? i always recommend mac cold air intake. it gives a nice whistle between gears that sounds like a turbo spool lol, i love it. CAI in general will not give u the HP ur wantin. many ppl think u can just through a intake and duals exhaust on a v6 and start out running GT's..wish that worked but it dont lol! invest in 373gears w/posi next youll LOVE IT

Re: CAI Install, now car won't start

The key that doesn't work is actually the original key I believe because it has the Ford symbol on it. The key I use now is one the previous owner had to make because they lost their original. So I guess the original just needs to be reprogrammed I suppose. I didn't know that the key set out a little radio signal...

I just got the $79.99 CAI from American Muscle, it doesn't have a brand name but it had really good reviews so that's why I got it.
