Weird sound when turning?

I was coming back from church this morning and noticed that almost every time i turned that there was a weird sound coming from the rear. Its like something is scratching or scraping when i turn. any ideas of what this could possibly be?

Re: Weird sound when turning?

Ummm....check the plastic cover inside the fenderwell.....it's possibly loose? Could even be a bad spring. I used to had an 87 thunder-chicken with a 5.0........One night I got on it, and heard one hell of a noise.....turned out to be a bad rear spring, and the fender came down and cut the tire.

Re: Weird sound when turning?

could be the differential gears/tlok itself but check for any signs of wear first, also you can get a friend to listen while you turn in a parking lot to see if they can pick anything out, perhaps sway bar is loose?

Re: Weird sound when turning?

i dont think it would have to do with the gears cause I got a new clutch and gears last year.
I think it might be the bearing but i am going to check for debris tomorrow after i get out of class.
thanks for the suggestions and i will keep yall posted.
