NO OIL PRESSURE

just replaced oil pump and timing cover i have no oil pressure need help

how are you checking the oil pressure? the stock pressure sender in the car is worthless~ and comes on at 6psi of pressure, if you are using an actual gauge then thats a different story.

it has horrible lifter chatter i tried to prime the system it is building pressure at all not squirting any oil out the filter houseing with the filter removed and the heads are getting no oil at all i have the coil disconnected so it wont start the engine this is getting annoying i read some where you got to put vasellene in the pump to build pressure on initial start up is it required

any one have any ideas on how to get this system to pump oil once again it makes no sence just put new timing cover and felpro metal gasket from napa and now no pressure

It does sound like a oil pump problem I'd make sure that the shaft isn't worn, and that it's installed properly.

ok i have good news i got the system primed took a little bit of enginutity to prime the system got whole bunch of hex rods and tacked them all together fitted it in to a drill and got it spinning for a little finnaly started to shoot out the lifters and yells of joy erupted thanks for brainstorming

hmm odd it took so much effort to get it primed, but glad its working. Keep en eye on it as you run it though to ensure the pressure is good

Ill make sure to keep an eye on it so far today it's had super high pressure which I am kinda happy about

Ok....that tells me what gauges I want in my new pod....was gonna go water and voltmeter....now I think it'll be water and oil psi

The way I see it oil psi is much like blood psi with out any both you and your car die sooner then later
