Re: service engine light

do you mean the egr pipe? If that is not on tight enough or if the vacuum thingy at the top of it is not on correctly, that will cause the check engine light to come on. go to autozone and have them tell you exactly what it is... they should know

Re: service engine light

Should tell you, but make sure you write the code down because they will try to get you to buy stuff you do not need if you arent careful.

Re: service engine light

O shoot...uh...your manifold will split in the near future. Mine did it about 3 months back. The weld going from the manifold to the flange to connect to the factory y pipe is very weak, and known to not hold. Mine didn't hold and I had to pay 180 bucks for a new manifold from ford. Ford knows about the problem...but they don't think it's enough of a problem for them to cover the costs by making a recall. I know of 4 other 02 v6 stangs this has happened to besides mine.

Now.....this is what I think it is. I'd have it checked though. O yeh...changing out your passenger manifold is a pain when your car is lowered 1.5 inches and you don't have a jack. I did it....it wasn't fun.

Re: service engine light

I'm not saying that's definitely what it is however. I thought my EGR was leaking, so I took it off, and it still leaked. When mine broke, I asked about it being welded, I was told a quote of 150. A new one was around 180, so I went ahead and bought a new one. I was also told that they can't guarantee how long the new weld would hold up.
