Re: new car

If insurance paid him 12500 for the car...it's more than just minor damage. And insurance company won't total a car out if it is gonna cost more than just having the thing fixed...I'd be kinda sceptical on what all is wrong with this car. Also...if insurance paid him 12500, which is probably totalling it, they will also claim ownership of it. This kinda sounds skeptical to me...

Re: new car

I agree. I don't think that car is worth $12,500 total anyway. Something is fishy

Re: new car

I looked at a lot of used Mustangs before deciding to get a new one. After looking at a lot of used ones, I noticed that about 50% of them had been in some sort of fender bender or serious wreck by studying body lines and paint matching (one area of paint looking more faded than another). I personaly wouldn't buy a sports car used, just because you don't know how badly it's been dogged and what the dealer could just be patching up just to get it off the lot.

Re: new car

Yeah, he's done a lot to it, but if nothing else, there's the age factor. I'm thinking $5,000, maybe.

Re: new car

Is it possible for him to insure all the extra mods? if he has the extras insured thats the only way i could see it being worth more but $12,000 is a lot....wait wtf. he got paid $12500 just for the rear end? doesn't make sense. something isn't right with the insurance claim adjuster or his story.

You will never get out what you put into the car.

Kelly Blue Book would tell a whole different story

Re: new car

it does have good milage for being an 88 but its definitely not worth 12k although it has work done to it you have to look at how old it is and what kind of condition it is in (as you can see by the pictures of the rear end it needs some work.) You can very easly get a 99 mustang GT for only 2,000 more.

Re: new car

theres not really anything new that i can say, i'm just thrown off by the amount the insurance company gave him...and if i know insurance companies, they dont' give away that much unless they have to, and thats usually after a car was totaled
