Ignition System

So i was reading on AmericanMuscle about different parts for the ignition system and i was wondering, how useful is an upgraded system? i mean, how much of a difference would a performance battery and coil pack and all the stuff be. (with a tune of course)

Unless you're coil pack is on its way out, you won't notice a thing.

Re: Ignition System

What about plugs? Hell, I'm not even sure what plugs I have now, cause I keep forgetting to check....but I've been thinking about going with a mid-range set of NGK's. Mainly cause my mileage is kinda sucky, and regardless of what octane and tune I run, when I go WOT, I still hear the detonation "knocking". I get it with 87 @ the 87 tune....I get it with 91 @the 91 tune.....and DAMNED sure get it with 87 @ the 91 tune (which I don't do anymore)..lol

Re: Ignition System

stay the hail away from ngk's. domestic car = domestic plugs! autolite plantinums or motorcraft o.e. plugs. unless you have stupid money and buy E3 plugs. and as for the detonation, there's no way around it really cuz gas is super sh***y now days. unless u have more stupid money and run race gas (Q16/C16) all the time. lol

Re: Ignition System

just change them with OEM parts or if the price is the same better than OEM you wont notice a difference accept in the case where the parts that are on there are worn out/old.
