something is wrong with my rear end

I have a 2000 v6 stang and my rear end is acting up real bad now
like when i pushin the clutch to shift i hear aloud mavement in the rear and just recently now when i push the gas it seems to pull to the right like if the tire wants to come off what do you guys think could be wrong
(if i were to go over a speed bump the rear would make loud sounds almost banging)

Re: something is wrong with my rear end

Sounds almost like a slack in your driveshaft linkage....

check the torque of your wheels. You might have some lug nuts loose.

Differential control arm bushings wore out,
commen problem if driven hard/replace with polyurethane.about 1 hr working time.get the ones off e-bay for $28 that re-use your metal sleeve.take arms off by supporting rear end on jackstands, place jack under penion to aid in realignment when going back. Remove arm, burn out old rubber, push new bushing in,on the differential side will use a drill to remove rubber. Donot remove either outer sleeve from arm or diff..d0 one side at a time, do not remove both arms at same time. You will need shallow 18 mm socket, ratchet and a 18 mm box wrench..nice if you have airtools the bolts are tight and rusty.spray with penetrating oil let set overnight.really one of the easier repairs you will do on your stang.best part it will really tighten up your rearend..by the way if you take to a shop you will pay about $400..dont drive like this, the end of the arm will damage your floor pan
