V6 vs V6

There has been a grudge match between me and a friend of mine with another v6 about who is faster and we have decided to settle it at the track. My question is who will win? I have a manual 03 V6 that is completely stock (even the stock tires) and my friend has an auto 04 V6 with a custom single tube exhaust and intake, plus fresher tires. We were messin around on the street and from a stop that thing light those tires up, I didnt even know the autos could bark em like that. My best time so far is a 15.5 at 90.28 btw.

Re: V6 vs V6

for an 04 auto he is running 16.0s stock perhaps 15.9s if he is lucky. With the mods he has he is till about 15.9 maybe 15.8.... so you should have NO problem beating him if you hook up (with your POS tires thats gonna be the hard part) Run a 15.5 and you wotn have anything to worry about.

Re: V6 vs V6

this thursday i will get you all a video of me with my mods vs a 99 V6 5-speed with 3.73s, intake, mac duals, and a x-cal2.......for those that dont know, i have those mods minus the dual exhaust, and gears but instead i have an underdrive pulley.

we ran from a 5 roll once and from a 65 roll about 5-6 times, from the 5 roll, i fell to his back bumper till about 70, when i started to slowly walk by, from the roll we were dead even, with me pulling away at 120, b/c he had to go from 4-5 while is still had a couple hundred rpms left in my third gear.

i think it will be close, but i am leaning towards you being the winner.........just dont underestimate an auto

Re: V6 vs V6

v6's are funny creatures they are hard to get good times out of, half or more of the drives suck and thus make the car slower than it should be... be a good driver and you will have no problem.

Re: V6 vs V6

If you can drive a stick decently you should win hands down.

Re: V6 vs V6

V6s dont have a TON of tq, but they do get it down low (lower than even teh 4.6s do) its a matter of taking advantage of that, especially with a manual... they are NOT fun to launch good until you get the hang of it.

Re: V6 vs V6

Well tonight we raced, and I won. Unfortunately I ran the worst freakin time of my entire life, which was a 15.9, however my friend also ran ****ty with a 16.4 so it kinda worked out. Thanx for the advice, btw.
