Just ordered My New Procharger

Today I ordered a new Procharger set up, a polished F-1 and a aluminium racing intercooler .The F-1 is good to 1050 HP and the intercooler is good for 1300. Should be an interesting set up.

Re: Just ordered My New Procharger

There's a guy where I live that has a stroker 5.0 and is in the process of trying to get all the stuff he needs fixed to get his Procharger up to 25 psi. According to specs, he should make 1100whp.

stroker and block are two different things
the 5.0 block has been known to crack at like 500 hp i believe

Yeah thats true but thew intercooler outlets in there are 3.5 so this will make it both easier to install and give much need airflow for the bigger blower
it's capable of 1525 cfm's .

Re: Just ordered My New Procharger

Stroker refers to the rotating assembly, the crank will have a longer throw, and the rods and pistons will be modified also, usually using longer rods, and changing the wrist pin location, to allow the piston to come down farther into the cylinder, effectivly changing displacement, you can do this to a stock block, or an aftermarket block, hopefully he used a Dart block or something similar

Gary, is 3.5" really needed? i usually hear that size doesnt matter so much as long as it isnt a restriction, such as using 1" pipe on my hybrid turbo

Re: Just ordered My New Procharger

Yeah I think so look at the CFM flow and the boost capability of the F-1 I think the 3.5 will be needed .http://www.procharger.com/models.shtml

what would be the difference between the bov you have now and the racing one? Is there a better quality in one then the other? I thought that a bov was just a bov that gets rid of the extra air controlled by the wg.
does one brand leak at a higher psi or something?
just curious.

Re: Just ordered My New Procharger

Well just about like everything else BOV 's have a psi rate if the BOV valve is not matched to the blower when you let off the TB it will not be able to dump the excess air it needs to ,plus if you get one thats rated to 11 or 15 psi and you are making like 20 psi you would start by-passing the metered air = not good cause there goes your boost.

Yeah, but most people go ahead and forge it if they're going to do all that, so I figured that was understood. I know what you mean tho, that may still not be good enough.

a forged rotating assembly has nothing to do with the block it self cracking

The blocks crack starting around the crankshaft, and work their way up to the camshaft, and up the valley, like this:

Re: Just ordered My New Procharger

We have never seen what a BIG blower will do on these engines everybody is on V1 ,V2 ,or the procharged equivalent.I was having to overspin these blowers just to get to the HP level I wanted so I decided to go with something intercooled ,and something that I would not have to get out if it's efficiency range to make the power I am looking for .So I went with something I would not outgrow for a while anyway.
To the Turbo question yes I could have gone turbo,it would have to be a T-76 trim or higher to make the same amount of power as the F-1 is capable of making .This would have been more expensive because I would have wanted a ball bearing turbo and one that big would cost a pretty penny not to mention the header pipes and all the rest of the parts that go with it like a
water to air Intercooler .I am already in the middle of an engine rebuild with new custom heads and other neat things and I have to have it ready for tune
and paint before the March race so we already have our hands full.

I appreciate the props ,if we guessed the pulley size correctly we should make over 600+ RWHP.

well if you meet your power goals with this setup thats all that matters.
ITs going to be sick, the supercharge six with what im predicting to be 600 rwhp.
what kind of mods do you have for traction?
