$440 at one of our sponsors here.... who has a better price.

Heard from Scott

At S&R racing he'll go $305 IF we can get 5 sold. I already have 1 for sure and two interested on V6POWER.net. If I can get a few more into it, it may go a little lower, but I'm pretty sure we're close to cost here...
The best I've seen elsewhere is $389.00 and his regular price is $320.

Let me know! When I hear back from him later, I'll post his email to me here and on V6POWER.net. ANy other boards I sure be asking on?

why do you want an alum flywheel? they dont give any power for our cars. the heavier ones actually help keep us in the power band. our power band is only about 1500rpms tall. with the alum driveshaft i had, i could get out of that quick, but the flywheel will be 10x quicker as thats part of the engine.

sure it will rev quicker, but it cant sustain the rpms when you need it up top. the 3.8L's main weakness is its top end. you dont want to sacrifice what little you ahve to try to put some down early when we still dont have that much torque.

not a good investment IMO

Strangely enough, everyone who has one that I have heard from (8 so far) have said they LOVE it. Most in fact say it's only beaten by gears as their favorite mod.
Someone want to tell me they switched back?

Ok, you want to explain how staying in your powerband longer helps you go
faster? That would mean the engine is revving slower... slow revving means that
the drivetrain isn't accelerating as fast as it could and thus neither are the wheels
nor car.
Usually the argument against aluminum flywheels is nearly opposite of yours.
That small displacement motors need the inertia of the heavy flywheel to help
keep them going. Like launching a pinto... spin up that heavy flywheel and dump
the clutch.
I don't know... the logic just fails me. Reduced drivetrain (rotational) mass helps
rev quicker.

edit: i'd like to add it's not necessarily the best idea for a stock motor
though. There are other ways to spend money.
