Re: 1995 mustang automatic help.

4.10 gears/ t-loc and a tuner. gears will run about $500/$600 installed. t-loc is about $100 and NEEDS to be installed when the shop puts in the gears cause it goes where the gears are. T-loc will help you get traction better by spinning the both tires instead of just the passenger side spinning. The tuners are about $350 but are well worth it for the autos cause it gives better shift points and it will help when you get more mods. Unfortunately you have to have the tuner after the gear install because the speedo has to be set.

Here are the mods I've done to my 98. They woke the car up a good bit. I'm having my shift kit installed in the morning. I'll keep you posted.

for an auto 4.10 gears/tlok and a good tune will make a big impact (as said above) just make sure the transmission is taken care of (fluid should be changed every 20k miles honestly~)

I went with the 3.73's due to alot of interstate driving. If that's not a factor I would def go with the 4.10 gears. 3.73's made a big difference but it could use more gear.

Re: 1995 mustang automatic help.

The reason I recommend 4.10s for the auto is the worse gearing of the transmission vs a manual, but you are correct the final drive hurts gas mileage with 4.10s

Trans-Go makes (or made back when I used them) a good shift kit for 94-98. But for 99+ they stay to steer clear of them.

Google a mod call the "Jerry Mod" for your transmission, its very popular for 99-04 and might work for 94-98 as well, its something you can do yourself I do believe and some say works better than a shift kit.
