More V6 Exhaust Problems

I recently bought a 2000 V6 Mustang, and I'm new to these forums. I have searched these forums for months in order to learn more about V6 exhaust options. I thought I knew what I was doing and bought MAC LT Headers with H-Pipe, and seperately bought Flowmaster Force II dual exhaust for a V6. After receiving all these parts I laid the exhaust out and it doesnt match up. I did not realize the Flowmaster Force II exhaust has a Y-Pipe, and I already have and want to keep the H-Pipe. I guess the main question I have is, will an aftermarket 2000 GT Flowmaster exhaust fit the 2000 V6 Mustang? If not, what would I need to buy in order for the H-Pipe and Mufflers to connect.

Any advice is needed and would be greatly appreciated.

The first question I'd see is if you can return the catback system. If that is not an option all is not lost.

You can put the headers and h-pipe on then use whatever you need from the catback to complete the exhaust system. If you don't feel comfortable doing this any reputable exhaust shop should be able to help you out for a fee.

Re: More V6 Exhaust Problems

If I'm not mistaken you'll need a shorty midpipe to match the LTs and keep a consistent length. Other than that, any GT cat-back setup should match up to the h-pipe if its the right length.

The way I read his post is he got the matching H-pipe from mac when he got the LT's.

Yeah i was just thinking that. Looks like you're right, return the y-pipe cat-back to begin with...

Re: More V6 Exhaust Problems

The MAC LT Headers came with the O/R H-Pipe.

I've talked to the company I bought the V6 catback from and I can exchange the V6 catback for the GT catback.

Thanks for the help.
