Huuuuuge Problem! CPS is melted!

Well ladies and gents I am almost positive I just discovered the "knocking"

Look at these wonderful pictures

The first picture is the old cps

Second picture is what is below the cps when you take it off. You can see it has melted it all off! So we need to take that whole long piece off right? If we take it out does the new one just slide in?

This is from the old engine. What we want to do is put this in the place of the old one that is currently in there. Will this one just slide in? Its got a gear at the bottom.

If you're talking about the shaft and the gear the goes to the camshaft, then yes. But when you get a new CPS you need to buy an alignment tool also. You can only buy it at Ford I believe.

Hey Brent man no worry I have a spare CPS off of the timing cover I had to buy. You could have it for shipping. Just you'd need to align it cause it wasnt marked or anything.

I got the shaft with the gear on it already. I pulled it off that old engine I bought. I just need the tool now

On a good note this is more than likely going to solve the "knock" and once I get this in my car its going to run like it is suppose to for a change!

If I go up to Ford again I might possibly kill one of the people working parts. They have pissed me off this whole week and this would be the 4th time going back up there this week.
