Noise reduction for fender well mounted Cold Air Induction

http://chipsv6specialties.com/

Anyone ever seen this before? Know the person behind it? Know how well the sound dampner works?

Re: Noise reduction for fender well mounted Cold Air Induction

isn't that basically the same thing as the "silencer" that comes with the factory filter set up?
I only hear the whistle at low RPM's and maybe on the freeway but my exhaust usually drones it out.

Where exactly does it go? If the only point is to make the whistle go away then yea... pretty pointless.

It appears to wrap around the airfilter.

Re: Noise reduction for fender well mounted Cold Air Induction

When I saw this thread that is basically the device I thought of. The fender well is smallest right above the wheel and that would be the best place to stuff a piece of foam.

Re: Noise reduction for fender well mounted Cold Air Induction

yeah, i like my intake, sometimes it has a really high pitched whistle when it shifts and sounds like a BOV haha...but one thing i DONT like is how sometimes it rattles....i have tightened everything and it still rattles....im just gonna go thru and put it foam wherever my cai contacts metal lol

Re: Noise reduction for fender well mounted Cold Air Induction

I created the product because I did not like the high pitch whistling that the throttle plate produces at low and medium throttle positions. Some people think it's great (I do) and some think it's stupid. That's fine. If you go to www.chipsv6specialties.com you can read all about the Fenderwell Sound Plug (FSP), see photos of the device and how it's installed.

Re: Noise reduction for fender well mounted Cold Air Induction

I personally dont mind the whistle that I once had. The reason for the whistle is the restriction of the T/B. With my mods it does not whistle anymore or I just cant hear it over the engine growl
