Question V6 Exhaust w/ BBK Shorty Headers?

I have a 2003 V6 with a Flowmaster Super 44 Muffler. It sounds good, but I want to add a little more volume and and a little more bass to the exhaust note. I've been thinking about going with BBK Shorty Headers and sticking with the single exhaust. Does anyone out there have BBK headers and if so how do they sound?

Well, I don't have shorty headers, but I would say if you want to keep the single exhaust and want a louder/deeper tone, I'd swap the Flowmaster out for a Borla muffler and dump it. Put a turndown tip directly off the muffler under the car.

Borlas sound amazing on v6's, probably the best, and the turndown tip will cause the sound to reverberate off the ground, making a deeper and louder tone.

Shorties, will do almost nothing for your sound, or power... Unless your limited by emissions get a set of long tubes. And borla on our cars sounds raspy (honda-ish).

Re: V6 Exhaust w/ BBK Shorty Headers?

i have a dual exhaust straight pipes with bbk shorty headers. my wife says sometimes it gives her a headache cause of how loud they are. im not sure of the type of mufflers, but they sound pretty good on mine. im needing to replace them soon, cause someone doesnt know how to properly install headers, so now i have an exhaust leak from where the header connects to the rest of the exhaust. when i do get that done, ill more than likely stick with with the bbk. theyre a good buy, dont let everyone tell you they sound horrible, its all personal preference. if you want to put a glass pack on your car, do it, its your car. but i do constantly hear the borla exhaust sounds the best on a v6, they are just pricey.

id suggest saving up for just dual exhaust, dont even worry about headers until you have more mods
