spark plug gap

Just did a header change and a spark plug change at the same time. I had a few exhaust leaks that I finally have gotten fixed but the engine is still running under power. I put new plugs gapped at .52 but when I came back and checked the old plugs they all seem to be set at .48. My car is a 2000 V-6.

Re: spark plug gap

I am almost sure they need to be at .52 as you said.

Re: spark plug gap

I put the old plugs back in the car and it made no real difference. The car has a slight miss in the idle and no power at all when I drive it. I cannot hear any noticeable leak in the exhaust anymore. Could it possibly be that now that I have fixed the exhaust leak that backpressure from bad Cats would cause it to do this?

Re: spark plug gap

Bad cats will make a loss in power. I dunno if it will make it as sluggish as you are describing..but sure isn't helping lol.
