Super Six Motorsports Power Paks

I've been thinking of adding a Super Six Motorsports Stage 2+ Power Pak instead of a supercharger. I use my car as a daily driver and I was thinking that this might be a better buy for my money. It probably won't have as much power as the supercharger, but I was thinking it might be better for every day use, and it will probably be less wear on my engine. Does anyone else have a Super Six Power Pak?

Stage 2+: Ported upper intake, ported lower intake, Stage 2+ cylinder heads with 1.90/1.50 stainless steel valves, SSM custom ground CompCams billet cam
included: $2600* adds up to 80 horses, saves $!

I agree, I've been looking at the 2+ & 3 paks. Lot less head aches in the long run & easier to work on.

Re: Super Six Motorsports Power Paks

is that the one that comes with the heads, cams, and stuff or the one with pulleys, tuner, belts? i know if you put a set of nice heads and set it off with a nice cam then you will be in business!

when you start messing with a daily driver you must accept the fact that issues can and will arise the more invest the modification is. If you can not have down time that has no specific end date then I wouldnt do it.

If you are ok with having your car gone for a month or so then perhaps its fine~ just something to think about. Who will install this? what if their work sucks and they screw up your car.

You could buy a junk yard engine and have it done and swap the entire thing over and have less down time and have a spare engine~ just a thought.

Yeah, I've thought about that. And that's why I'm thinking about the SSMS Power Pak instead of a supercharger. I'm gonna take it to my uncles shop, he has been a mechanic for 40 years and he owns a Ford/Shelby performance shop with a dyno.

Re: Super Six Motorsports Power Paks

What Spector said is very true. There's always the chance that your engine could have issues regardless of installation and such, it's just a chance you have to decide to take. That aside, building the engine is probably the better move regardless of it being daily driven. You can build the engine, gain 80 hp, and be well prepared (engine wise) for a supercharger. Building up the internals of the engine is the best thing you can do to protect it from the stress of running a power adder.

I say go for it, and if you can get it done for free or really cheap by your uncle, then even better!
