Re: smog

Thats a good question man. I was wondering if the stage 2 Procharger is street legal. Level 2 put you at 400 at the crank. The stage 1 gets you like 287 at the rear wheel!!! and is legal I believe. But you haft to add Fuel injectors for stage 2 so I wonder if you can have 400hp Mustang and have it be street legal. Im sure 300 is possible. Again im speaking for the 05 & 06's though

Re: smog

Yes you would be able to pass smog but you would have to have your car re tuned if you're adding bigger injectors.

Are you talking about getting 300 rwhp NA or forced induction? If you're going the SC route the biggest thing that will fail you is visual. You can make 500rwhp and with the right tune pass the OBD2 and the tailpipe test but your only worry would be visual, especially if you have someone who is anal.

Which is why I brought up in that other thread about trying to do it legally by going through the smog referee. That way you won't have to dish out a $100 on top of the smog fee to get you to pass at some shady place, and if a cop wants to look under your hood then you have nothing to worry about.

People with 30# inj's pass easily, and 21#'ers make well over 200 RWHP
so 30's should surpass 300 RWHP. 36's at least... but anyway, the bigger
inj's just turn down the pulse width at idle as compared to the 21's.

If one of my new cams in a 4.2 is ever properly tuned and installed, we
may already be at 300 RWHP but I have never heard if he did it. He was
also needing better intake porting to match the heads/cam combo.
A 3.8 going over 300 RWHP would need short runner intakes to do it NA.

Re: smog

PS: The whole combo would be high-RPM biased,
short runners, ported heads, big(ger) cam, higher
CR and built shortblock. But definitely do-able.
