1st one to start a thread

I guess I'll be the first one to post a thread to see how many 05 06 owners are on the forum

Re: 1st one to start a thread

With a CAI,a good axle back muffler, and a SCT Tune the 05 mustang v6's have been know to get into the 200's if your's is a manual. The stock auto's will run about 193-195 HP with the same mods. You will have spent at least $900 for all that, over a $1000 if you wanted a cat back exhuast or dual's. The manuals are dyno'd about 177-180 bone stock at the rearwheel the auto's are dyno'd about 160-165 bone stock at the rearwheel. So you would be better off with a manual on the HP & TQ end if you didn't mind driving the car . ( depending on where you live)

They are barly any aftermarket pars for the engine yet. (besides CAI & exhaust) They just came out with an underdrive pully for the 05 V6 that claims 12hp & 16tq but this guy named screamin put it on his V6 auto and did a dyno. Before he was at 193 and after he was still at 193. Pretty crapy for $275. As far as I know there is now camshaft's yet. They have light wieght flywheels, driveshafts, shror throw shifters, and I think clutches. They have a Nitrous kit called the Zex kit that everyone is thinking about but I'll wait till I can afford the procharger stage 1 kit.lol They also got gears and Tloks.

Re: 1st one to start a thread

phew.. under a grand? thats going to be tough. hmm well i can name a few things that you can do for under a grand that will give you gains but im not sure how much.. i also know a few things that can get you huge gains and cost more than a 1000.

without thinking about either of them i would suggest the following..

exhaust.. for the simple fact that your car will just sound a lot sexier and will send out the message, hey im a modded v6.

CAI.. just to help the engine breathe more.. very cheap

gears! no gains but you will notice a big difference in acceleration

i think thats a great start for any car.. not just v6 mustangs

Re: 1st one to start a thread

Cool, another forum, I am such a mustang junkie.

To break 200 RWHP on an auto, you need the following:

Manual

-High flow muffler
-Good CAI w/very good professional tune. TI, C&L, etc.
-Professional tune: Lideo (alt auto), TI (John DeMolet), Doug (bamachips) and Brenspeed
-SCT XCAL2

Auto

-all of the above
-php pulley
-and this muffler: http://forums.bradbarnett.net/index.php?showtopic=43703

I'm currently at 194 RWHP SAE without the Zex. I am shooting to break 200 NA within the next 2 weeks.

Re: 1st one to start a thread

hey guys... first time posting on this board... good to see some familiar faces!

On a Mustang dyno, I was at 189.8 rwhp. After scouring the net for info, I understand they show 8-12% lower than a more traditional dynojet. That was before Doug sent me his updated tunes for the C&L intake. He also adjusted for my 3.73's. Talk about a very noticeable difference after the new tune! For canned tunes, he's simply great!

Travis, the tuner over at FAST Specialties in Vancouver, WA felt that there was room left in the tune and that with pulleys I could hit 200 rwhp on the Mustang dyno.

Once I get an actual dyno tune with Travis, I'll turn around and get a hp/tq reading off a dynojet just so we can all get an equal comparison.

So, looks like the start of a great board!

btw... I'm including my dyno sheet. Keep in the mind, they did not check the air/fuel ratio. The number at the bottom of the sheet is just a default number.

edit: I just said my hello's in the Intro and Greetings forum.. couple pics and a viddy in there.

This site is great for learning new stuff, I'd have to thank Brad for getting me hooked on it when I have a free moment to get on.
