Re: power pack and supercharger?. I need HELP

start with the basics! any idiot can make a v8 fast, it takes a REAL idiot to make a v6 fast! and that makes me a moron lol, anyway we need bolt ons first. Cold air intake, then 3.73 gears (manual) or 4.10 (automatic)...these are rear gears. and while were doing gears we need to doi posi tract as well! then we need a tune...i like the diablo predator so i bought one an love it. now that your rear end is semi built we can put some power on it! if you wanna do forced induction like a supercharger i recommend a lil port and polish first. get ur upper/lower intake manifold P&P, then take your heads to the machine shop and have them P&P! now thats done lets get some sound going. the only way to make a v6 sound close to a v8 is with flowmasters! ppl say its a matter of opinion but i have spent a ton of money proven this theory! list to me on this one! for your exhaust get Mac long tube headers, w/ a Mac o/r H pipe, flowmasters and 2.5 tips! now by this time your already out running Gts and now u sound like one in 1-4 Rpms! the v6 is never gonna go away your gonna hear it at high rpms! go ahead and change wires and plugs and upgrade to a screamin demon coil pack. Now were ready i think for some forced induction! i like turbo but settled for a supercharger because i got a awesome deal on it! mines Vortech but u can do anything from a M112 to an old M90 off a Thunderbird SC! any thats the steps i would/did take! worked fine for me, theres a sticky in here that has a Mod list from beginning to end, its a matter of opinion also but it works great and format is nice, u know what type of supercharger u want yet?

Yea it's possible but if you mod inside of the engine watch your compression ratio. ( pistons )

Re: power pack and supercharger?. I need HELP

Well now that depends. If your dead set on getting a power pack and supercharger, then skip bolts ons (cold air intake) because they will become pointless later on. A SSMS power pack and any blower out will put you close to the limits of the stock internals. Best thing to do would be get them both at the same time. But to start off full exhaust you can't go wrong. Then power pack / super charger and tune.

determine what your goals are with the car (final goals that are realistic) and realize as you start to mod your car will have issues its just how mods work. If you cant accept breaking your car or having a long down time while its fixed or modded then going deep into mods might not be for you. Once you figure it out what you want we can help get you there the best way possible.

Not exactly, you need 31spline axles and true trac to hold against anything.

I'm sure everybody knows a stock 8.8 isn't bullet proof.

Re: power pack and supercharger?. I need HELP

the 7.5 has weak spider gears, thats its week point and what will break (I know ive snaped one...) the axles in the 7.5 are the same as the 8.8. Generally an 8.8 is plenty strong for most everyone, its all about the shock factor taking off in an instant.

I've snapped two, and had a friend snap his swapped 8.8 in his v6 like a week after he installed it.(we're both auto cars) Granted the 8.8 is an awesome rear end and makes all 98-02 camaro/firebird owners jealous. Rear ends are like the lottery sometimes you go forever without breaking and one time you get lucky(unlucky in this case) and it leaves you on the side of the road.
