Question Head Gasket ?s 95-3.8

Ok I have a 95 vert with 3.8 no issue with Head gaskets, Was this a hit or miss issue? Is there anything I should be aware of or do for PM to not incur a head gasket problem? Love the car and runs real good with no issues just a PM nut.

Re: Head Gasket ?s 95-3.8

when you get the time, check and see if there is any leaks coming from around the heads, if so then thats y you got them. if not, the other owner couldve just had them incase it were to happen, or he changed the heads, just not the gaskets. but do keep and eye on it just to be safe.

from 94 till mid 96 head gaskets were an issue, im sure some are fine while others are not. if you have not had them replaced and you dont plan to supercharger or mod the car heavy im sure they probably will be fine.

Re: Head Gasket ?s 95-3.8

Well I am not planning any heavy mods maybe a cai wheels and exhaust.
The car has no leaks anywhere (except for vert top?) It is a good running car
I have an opportunity to trade towards a 98 coupe Hard top with the dealer I bought it from usual issue though Odometer. same as mine when I bought it
Buyer beware!

The 95 head gasket will blow out with time. The thread depth in the block for the head bolts is the problem. Go with the 98.
